Fundraising Campaigns

Fundraising is an integral part of our agenda in GlobeMed, simply because without money, we could not meet our goal this year of supporting all the efforts of CHOICE Humanitarian. The funding for this project is dependent upon GlobeMed here at Penn. Our goal this semester is to reach $1,000 for CHOICE Humanitarian before the start of the GROW 2020 Internship this summer.

Our first major fundraising event this semester took place on Saturday October 1st. It was called "GlobeMed’s Performing Arts Night." Ten talented performing groups from Penn, including Penn Masala, Quaker Notes, Pennchants, and more volunteered their time and talent to make the night a HUGE success! In between acts, which ranged from rock bands, to A cappella, to ballet, to hip-hop, our co-presidents and previous GROW interns spoke about GlobeMed and CHOICE Humanitarian.

Our second major fundraising event this semester, which was our Ugly Sweater Sale, took place the week of December 2nd through the 6th, just in time for holiday ugly sweater parties, and the festive season ahead. Members of GlobeMed spent the prior month going to various thrift shops around Philadelphia together and were able to sell all 100+ sweaters obtained in the week of sales.

In the spring semester, GlobeMed will be holding a Valentine’s Day Macaron-Gram delivery. By pairing with Sugar Philly, a popular food truck specializing in unique macarons in the Philadelphia area, our chapter gets a portion of the profits made. GlobeMed members will deliver macaron-gram gift boxes to various dorms around campus.
